Was disappointed to hear the President talking today about the rising price of oil.
His analysis was fine as far as it went: prices are rising because of increasing demand (China, India, blah, blah, blah).
His solution was less edifying: increase supply. In other words, open up Alaska and the Arctic to the oil companies. Disaster capitalism par excellence.
Agh!
The real answer is the exact opposite: decrease demand.
The future is non-oil based. Let's embrace it with all the energy and creativity that the human race at its best is capable of.
