Yemen, Uganda and Slavery

New Vision, which modestly describes itself as "Uganda's Leading Website", carries the moving story of Florence Kampi, abducted at the age of five from her native Uganda and sold into slavery in Yemen. 28 years later (during which time her mother assumed her to be dead) and with help from the International Organization for Migration and the Ugandan Government, Florence was restored to her mother at Entebbe Airport near Kampala.

Anti Slavery International estimates that there are over 120 million slaves in the world today, more than at any other time in human history.
